More not to measure temperature

This picture, taken by www.surfacestations.org volunteer Don Kostuch is the Detroit Lakes, MN USHCN climate station of record. The Stevenson Screen is sinking into the swamp and the MMTS sensor is kept at a comfortable temperature thanks to the nearby A/C units.

The complete set of pictures is here

From NASA's GISS, the plot makes it pretty easy to see there was no discernible multi-decadal temperature trend until the A/C units were installed. And it's not hard to figure out when that was.

But hey, thy can "fix" the problem with math and adjustments to the temperature record.

Whatt's up with that?

We have to consider the possibility that they put in the AC unit because of GW. Its not much of an excuse, but it is an excuse none-the-less.

And besides, a friend of mine just told me that AGW has been proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, by double-blind peer-reviewed research. So all these bad weather stations are of no consequence. That makes my life easier, now I don't have anything to blog about.

The step in the graph was caused by a change in the way that data was acquired and presented from 2000 on. This step in level is seen in all graphs using this methodolgy. The anomaly has since been acknowledged and fixed. But ...
