World Ice Levels Continues to Grow

World ice levels have continued to grow with levels now more than 1 million square kilometers more than normal. The northern hemisphere has shown a continued increase to almost normal levels. Whilst in the south, the Antarctic continues to grow!

Jonathan,

I wanted to email this event to you but can't find a contact address. Perhaps it's of interest?

A global survey from Havas Media

Havas Media the umbrella group which draws together the full global media expertise of Havas invites you to the weblaunch of their global survey on consumer response to climate change.

Webcast Details

Date: Monday 12 May 2008

Time: 3.00pm British Summer Time

To register for the webcast visit http://events.ctn.co.uk/ec/havas/513/

The webcast will begin with an interview on the results and then be followed by a Q & A session.

Details of how to obtain an advance copy of the research findings will be sent to all who register.

Key Facts:

With more than 11,000 respondents, this is one of the largest pieces of research of its kind.

Qualitative and quantitative research across nine key markets - UK, US, Spain, France, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, India and China.

Vast majority of consumers highly engaged with the issue and keen to further demonstrate their green awareness in how they shop.

Considerable expectation from consumers that brands should lead the way in tackling climate change.

Philip_D at CA indicated that you had done some work on Intraday temperature signals. Can you point me to where you discussed it?
Thanks

This Whole website is basically an analysis of intra-day temperature analysis. GO to this webpage and browse through the information:

Jonathan:
Thanks, I found it via Google.
Have you posted a dataset? I did not notice any in reviewing the more recent posts.

Jonathan Lowe said...

no I havne't posted a dataset, as I am not sure if they are allowed to be publically spreadable. They are available for a small cost $30 from the BOM as shown here

Er I don't get it- you've posted 2 graphs which essentially show a steady DECREASE in ice levels since 1979. There seems to be a peak in the last winter to a level above average- likely due to La Nina so I wouldn't go getting out the party hats and whistles just yet. Note that the lowest point in that graph is mid 2007. 2008 may yet trend even lower than that.

Lets look at a couple of others...

Below average.

Steady decline.

Steady decline.

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here but if its to make out that global warming is an evil left wing conspiracy based on ignorance then you're doing a terrible job.

"steady DECREASE in ice levels since 1979" maybe you need to look again.

The graph clearly shows steady ice levels till about 2004. From 2004 to 2007 is showed a decrease, but within about 3 months the levels increased to well above normal levels. More recently in the last few months this has gone below normal.

However, there is no evidence at all to suggest that there is a significant decrease in ice levels.

Your 3 graphs show the northern hemisphere which is below normal, no doubt. However, you fail to acknowledge the southern hemisphere which has ice levels larger than normal.

I'm not trying to prove that global warming is a left wing conspiracy through ignorance, but rather proving that temperature variation is largely caused by the sun. Please look at my temperature analysis and comment on that
